Linde Wins Two Major Awards in the Photovoltaic and Semiconductor Industries.

During Intersolar Munich in May, Linde electronics fought off stiff competition to become the proud winners of the ‘Green Solar Manufacturing’ Cell Award.

The International Solar Technology Awards are designed to recognise and acknowledge achievements in the production of solar technology. Emphasis is placed on real-world technical expertise required to push solar power toward grid-parity without government subsidies.

Linde won the award for their on-site fluorine generator technology. The Linde F2 cleaning process eliminates a major source of potential greenhouse gas emissions, NF3, from thin film solar panel production.

Each award entry was judged by a panel of industry experts and the industry public.

One judge commented that “…wide-spread usage (of on-site fluorine) in PV is still to be achieved. This is astonishing given the potential benefits of using F2 instead of other fluorine containing gases… If this competition helps to make (on-site fluorine) more widely known - it will be for the benefit of all of us.”

Semicon West in July was the arena for the presentation of Linde's second award for the technology, this time specifically for the Linde Generation-F®80 on-site fluorine generator for Thermal / LPCVD chamber cleaning.

Semiconductor International presented Linde with their Editor's Choice 'Best Product' award for 2009 in an awards breakfast during the show.
